St. Louise de Marillac had not one, but two saints as counselors, St. Francis de Sales and St. Vincent de Paul. Her life’s work of caring for the sick, poor and the neglected was guided by St. Vincent. She helped direct the “Ladies of Charity” which eventually became the Daughters of Charity. In 1634, St. Louise took her vows and spread the work in France, which is now all over the world. She was canonized in 1934.
