Saint Noah (Noe) was never formally canonized but is recognized as a saint. He is the patriarch of the flood in the book of Genesis. Because the people were evil and corrupt God sent a great rain to flood the earth and destroy the wicked. He commanded Noah to build an ark to save his family and all living things of the flesh. Noah was 600 years old when the flood occurred. When it subsided, God told Noah to replenish the earth and to multiply. He then made a covenant with Noah that never again would there be a flood to destroy the earth; the rainbow being a symbol of God's promise.
