Pope Linus is the second bishop of Rome succeeding St. Peter, according to the early Church Fathers. His pontificate endured from c. AD 67 to his death. He was consecrated by St. Paul as bishop and mentioned in Paul’s Letter to Timothy 4:21. Tradition tells us that he promoted the custom of women covering their heads at church. His relics are at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
