Gabriel, one of the three archangels mentioned in the Bible, is referred to as "he" in the Bible and is explicitly called "The man Gabriel", although he is often portrayed as a feminine figure in art. Gabriel appears in the bible more than once but his greatest mission was to announce to Mary that she was to be the Mother of God.
